A woman determined to defend the right to memory of the last, the outcast. A lifeless body in which a potential substance of abuse is found. Black-and-white animation that leads, poetically, into the world left behind by the dead boy.
"The Sense of the Earth" is a journey through the contradictions and ghosts of contemporary European society and a reminder of the importance of memory as a foundational element in the evolution of human civilization.

Valentina Carnelutti has worked with directors such as Marco Tullio Giordana (The Best of Youth), Theo Angelopoulos (The Dust of Time), Paolo Virzì (Tutta la vita davanti and Like Crazy, for which she was a finalist for the Nastro d’Argento and nominated for the David di Donatello), Citto Maselli (Le ombre rosse), Angelo Orlando (Sfiorarsi), Carlo Lavagna (Arianna, for which she was also a finalist for the Nastro d’Argento), and many others. Alessandro Ingaria is a director, audiovisual artist, and mayor, recognized as a finalist at the Goya Awards and Nastri d’Argento. He won the National Cinema Prize in 2018 with The Arithmetic of the Wolf. A journalist and photographer, he has covered crises in Latin America, Africa, and Afghanistan, collaborating with outlets like Peacereporter. A lecturer at the Buster Keaton Lab in Genoa, he also leads Geronimo Carbonò, promoting socio-cultural projects. His works include Winter Love (Goya 2017) and The Body of the World (Nastri d’Argento 2024). He is currently developing a feature film about Patrick Zaki’s imprisonment in Egypt.
